Providing consultation and supervision for clinicians

Accepting consultations only at this time

Real therapy—therapy that provides lasting change—depends on an individualized case formulation: an explanation of the psychology that is interfering with life goals, and an explanation of how therapy can help. I provide case formulations for my own patients, and I help other clinicians provide them for their patients. The technique of psychotherapy follows from the understanding of how therapy can help. A sense of collaboration grows out of a clear case formulation; therapists then work with their patients, not on them.

Clinicians often seek consultation because their work has become routine and they need to revitalize it. My solution to burnout is to get better at therapy, thereby enjoying it more and finding excitement in improvement. Clinicians also seek supervision for licensure.

Couples typically seek therapy because they are not on the same page about what they are trying to build together, or because they don’t have the necessary skills for conflict resolution and collaboration. My approach is to help you develop those skills and to clarify what you want from your relationship.

Individuals seek therapy because they are relying on old, outmoded expectations based on and maintaining a constricted sense of who they are. Obsolete relational patterns, many of which are trauma-induced, interfere with your life goals. Therapy is typically a place to produce and to learn to welcome yourself, although the details matter, and each therapy is unique.

I’m not accepting insurance, although I will try to assist you by filling out any needed forms.
